This Distributor is manufactured with HEATforming in ECOBRASS, a lead free brass alloy. Typically, these environmentally friendly alloys are not cold formable to useful degrees.
The comparative cold hydroformed sample in M37 Alloy (This CuZn37 alloy is not Lead Free. Note that even with this alloy, the part is not completely formed out after 3 seperate forming steps requiring 3 hydroforming dies and 4 separate annealing steps.)
In contrast, the HEATformed distributor is fully formed in one step with one tool using ECOBRASS. Compared to Hydroforming, much better radii are formed in the outlet area. The distributor can be configured to various numbers of outlets. The formed distributor is cut into different pieces and machined as shown for final assembly.
This handle is manufactured with HEATforming in ECOBRASS, a lead free brass alloy. Typically, these environmentally friendly alloys are not cold formable to useful degrees. The only other way to manufacture such handle would be casting. A standard casting has much higher weight and material consumption (disadvantage for the spring of the door lock). A cored casting reduces weight, but sacrifices cost efficiency. In addition, the effort to polish cast surfaces is much higher.
Demonstration shape formed in 3mm wall (copper/zinc alloy 37 or ECOBRASS)
Portion of a component with an form-adapted thread - unfortunately, it cannot be shown in full at this time. Created with CuZn 37 and ECOBRASS.
One end of the starting tube was closed by high speed endforming. The HEATforming process created the spout node and all sharp details, including the product logo, in one forming step.
